This week we have been reading and reflecting on:

Isaiah 43: 18-19

18 “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

It is now time to reflect even deeper and turn our thoughts and revelations into a prayer.

One way to do this is to use the SOAP model as a way to journal your thoughts:

abby soap

What is S.O.A.P.? S.O.A.P. stands for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer. It is a way of getting more out of your time in God's word.

How does it work?

It's quite simple. When you sit for your daily quiet time read the bible as you normally would with one simple difference. Underline or make note of any verses that jump out at you with special significance. This is the basis for diving deeper and using S.O.A.P.

Scripture Write on your SOAP page the verse or verses that stuck out to you in your reading.

Observation What did you observe about the scripture that struck you. This can be one sentence or a whole book.

Application How can you apply the observation so that it affects your life today.

Prayer Write out a prayer to God based on what you just learned and ask him to help you apply this truth in your life.

Be sure to join our Facebook group for coloring pages to download and color.  Coloring as you reflect on God's Word is a wonderful way to train your brain and your body how  to SIT quietly in God's presence...

Here is a poem to help you reflect:

Forgiveness in the Son ~

It’s not that I don’t remember, it’s just that I choose to forget my life as I lived it . . . before the day Jesus and I met.

It’s not that I can’t recall, the places that I have been but, I know it’s just the devil who wants to visit my past sin.

It’s not that I don’t regret, or feel the shame of disgrace it’s just that I know I’m forgiven because of Jesus’ awesome grace.

It’s not that I don’t consider, my life before I was saved it’s just that I don’t want to be to my former days enslaved.

So, don’t throw in others faces, the wrong things they have done for, we’re all a bunch of sinners needing to forgive every one!

Isaiah 38:17 King James Version

“Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
