Proverbs 3:5-6

Proverbs 3:5-6 New King James Version (NKJV)

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths

It is now time for each of us to personally interact with this scripture. We will gain so much insight into God's love for us as we reflect on His words.  As you read and pray, sit quietly and be aware of God's presence with you. What is He wanting to reveal to you?  The Bible is HIS LIVING WORD!  Let Him speak to you through these verses!  Take time today to interact with God!  Document your thoughts and feelings on paper.  One way to do this is through SOAP journaling.

Here is an explanation of the SOAP method:

What is S.O.A.P.? S.O.A.P. stands for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer.

It is a way of getting more out of your time in God's word.

How does it work?

It's quite simple. When you sit for your daily quiet time read the bible as you normally would with one simple difference. Underline or make note of any verses that jump out at you with special significance. This is the basis for diving deeper and using S.O.A.P.

Scripture Write on your SOAP page the verse or verses that stuck out to you in your reading. Observation What did you observe about the scripture that struck you. This can be one sentence or a whole book. Application How can you apply the observation so that it affects your life today. Prayer Write out a prayer to God based on what you just learned and ask him to help you apply this truth in your life.

Here is a poem to read as you reflect on God's Word

I Put God Before Me ~

I put my God before me, I let Him lead my way I know that I can trust Him to guide me every day.

I hold on to His right hand, He takes from me my left one I know that He will direct me to where I will find His Son.

My soul finds refreshment, my body rests in His hope for He will never leave me His goodness helps me to cope.

My way is full of His mercy, joy follows me wherever I go my pleasures are His forever for His presence I shall know!

Psalm 16:11 King James Version

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
