The tutorial for this Bible verse is a bit of a challenge, BUT it will be sooooo worth it. The art is going to be truly for each of you: because it WILL BE YOU and a chance to remind you just how much God loves YOU. Here is mine:
Notice that I not only collaged myself, but I started the verse with my OWN NAME as a reminder to myself that God means me, and not only that, but I very consciously chose to use my regular handwriting in this very personal letter to myself. It is not nearly as hard as it looks! Let's start:
Step 1: using scissors and scrap paper (I used an old dictionary) cut out four main pieces for the body: an oval head, a rectangle body (I rounded the edges and made curved the sides in--make it look like YOUR body shape), a triangle piece for the neck, and then a skirt shape trapezoid.
Step 2: Glue down the middle of the body and the the skirt. Peel back a little of the body and slide the neck piece under and and glue that down. Add the head to the top overlapping the neck slightly.
Step 3: Cut out two long skinny rectangles for arms. I rounded the edges slightly at the ends for shoulders. Cut out two mitten shapes.
Step 4: Glue down the arms. I decided I wanted mine going to the side, but as if I have my palms up. Go ahead and paint the clothing your favorite colors.
Step 5: We need hair! Rip out some pieces and add to the head: mine is cut in a pixie so I just put a little on--use as much as paper as you need!
Step 6: Add a little brown or whatever color to the skin. I added a little pinkish (or watered down red) to my cheeks.
Step 7: Add color to the background: any color you want, can be light, dark, whatever goes! I wear a lot of jewelry, so I needed some accesssories: bracelet, earrings, and a necklace were put in with ink/marker.
Step 8: This is my favorite part: write YOUR NAME, a colon or comma or dash, then write the verse in your own handwriting. Pray for yourself as you go. It is good to pray these things! God will be with you in powerful ways!
If you don't feel comfortable I created a black and white version you can color. Trace it if you like as well to change the body shape, hair, and add your own handwriting--and don't forget YOUR NAME.
